Insights into Invisory’s First Hackathon

Building a seamless integration ecosystem can pose a wide array of challenges to developers, especially when working with major cloud marketplaces and CRMs. This has been a huge focus for the development team here at Invisory, where our mission is to centralize your cloud marketplace experience.

A focus on navigating Third-Party Integrations with Prismatic

We recently embarked on a journey to enhance our integration capabilities. I’d like to share our story of partnering with Prismatic, which offers a developer-friendly embedded integration platform that streamlines the process of building integrations to connect your customer’s apps and services, as well as how our team rallied around integration innovation during an offsite hackathon together in real-life.

A product and development team united by Innovation

Our development team at Invisory is spread across the country, but we stay connected through innovative projects and occasional meetups. For our first hackathon, we gathered in New York City. It was a fantastic team-building exercise that included solving an escape room (in record time, might I add) and laughing together at the Comedy Cellar. These activities not only strengthened our team bond but also set the stage for an exciting project: integrating Prismatic into our workflow.

Our hackathon successes

During our hackathon in New York, the team successfully kicked off several Prismatic integrations, which promise to enhance the user experience in the Invisory platform:

  • Google Calendar Integration: Forward relevant co-sell information to Google Calendars, ensuring our customers never miss a critical update.
  • Slack Notifications: Keep teams informed in real-time by forwarding co-sell updates via Slack.
  • Azure Transaction History: Capture and forward Azure transaction history to our database and Google Sheets, simplifying record-keeping.

These integrations are still in development, but their creation demonstrates Prismatic’s potential to revolutionize our integration process so that our customers see co-sell success faster and without missing crucial pipeline updates.

The Challenges of Cloud Marketplaces

ISVs often face significant challenges when getting listed and managing listings on cloud marketplaces. The process can be convoluted and time-consuming, with complex onboarding and inconsistent data formats. Cloud marketplaces can oftentimes strain an ISV with sporadic and confusing updates. Our integrations aim to alleviate these challenges by providing a clear and consistent experience.

For example, our integration capturing Azure transaction history simplifies the accounting process by standardizing data formats and automating data forwarding. This reduces the manual effort required to keep track of transactions, allowing our customers to focus on their core business activities.

Why we chose Prismatic

Invisory’s native integrations with CRMs like Salesforce and Hubspot, and cloud marketplaces such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, have served us well. Offering additional integrations and capabilities within our platform is paramount at Invisory. We recognize the importance of meeting the customer where they’re at, and Prismatic offers a unified platform that streamlines this experience that promises significant improvements for our customers. This partnership is crucial for several reasons:

  • Unified Experience: Prismatic provides a consistent onboarding experience for multiple integrations, making it a smoother process for our customers.
  • Speed and Efficiency: With pre-built integrations and the ability to create custom, reusable components, Prismatic aids in reducing development time.
  • Scalability: The platform’s flexibility allows us to introduce new integrations that our customers can benefit from.

Gratitude to the Prismatic team

Our success with Prismatic wouldn’t have been possible without the comprehensive, concise, and accessible documentation they provide. Additionally, we want to extend a special thank you to Libby Stengel and Taylor Reece for their personal assistance. Their support has been invaluable in navigating the development process and ensuring we leverage Prismatic to its fullest potential.

Moving forward – with confidence

Our partnership with Prismatic is still in its early stages, but the progress we’ve made so far is promising. The ease of creating integrations and the potential for a unified onboarding experience align perfectly with our goal of simplifying the cloud marketplace journey for our customers.

Integrating Prismatic into our ecosystem not only streamlines our internal processes but also enhances the experience for our customers. As we continue to develop these integrations, we are excited about the future and the new opportunities this partnership will bring. Stay tuned for more updates on our progress and the new integrations we’ll be rolling out in the future.
