How to Nail your Agentforce “Better Together” Story and Get Salesforce’s Attention: 2025 edition
Salesforce has been continuously evolving since the DotCom era, pioneering CRM, the first cloud marketplace, and now Agentforce. Since Salesforce’s announcement of Agentforce in September 2024, the platform has undergone rapid change. And as long as Agentforce is around, we can expect the platform to iterate and grow rapidly, including the Agentforce Command Center, native MCP support, and expanded AgentExchange.
While Agentforce will continue to evolve, some aspects of Agentforce ISV’s GTM strategy will stay the same.
In a recent Salesforce Ben article, Thomas Morgan makes the case that Agentforce adoption has been slightly slower than expected. For ISVs to be on the cutting edge of Agentforce, moving from hype to building an agent that guides someone through a complex sales, support, or CRM workflow.
Why should ISVs care about Agentforce
As Salesforce pours more resources into Agentforce and Agentic AI (Marc Benioff has even mentioned renaming the company to Agentforce), ISVs won’t want to miss out on a major opportunity to grow alongside the CRM giant.
Salesforce is putting their technological, financial, and human resources behind AI. ISVs that can figure out how to deliver Agentic AI solutions that help orchestrate multiple complex workflows, make good use of data, and drive positive business outcomes will rise to the top not only of the Salesforce ecosystem, but the tech world at large.
Agentforce Key Terms
Agent-to-Agent Protocol (A2A) – enables seamless communication and collaboration between diverse agents
Model Context Protocol (MCP) – facilitates secure and standardized data exchange and tool sharing between models and agents
Consumption – Consumption refers to how customers use platform resources like API calls, storage, or app features, often tied to usage-based pricing or billing.
Observability – Observability provides visibility into system health and performance, helping teams monitor API usage, Apex execution, and user experience within Salesforce environments.
LLMs – LLMs (think Language Learning Models like ChatGPT) power AI-driven features like Einstein Copilot, enabling automation, natural language inputs, and intelligent recommendations across the Salesforce platform.
Interoperability – Interoperability ensures your app or integration works seamlessly within Salesforce, supporting data flows, APIs, embedded experiences across clouds, and other enterprise systems.
Getting your “better together” story with Agentforce
As Agentforce becomes more legit and actually starts to work, Salesforce PAMs and sellers will be on the lookout for Agent solutions that accomplish the following:
- Improve the functionality of existing Salesforce tools and products, like Data Cloud
- Integrate with key partners, especially solutions from AWS, Box, Cisco, Google Cloud, IBM, Notion, Stripe, PayPal, Terada, WRITER
- How it interacts with other Agents, existing data sets, and enterprise systems
- How your solution drives consumption strategically
In Salesforce’s own marketing messaging, the CRM giant has been focused on how Agentic AI enables workers to accomplish more, generate new insights, and focus on the creative aspects of their work. Stick to this talk track – it’s about ROI, as well as driving customer and employee satisfaction.
Focus on your solution’s value
Be sure to focus on how your solution drives value for customers, especially enterprise buyers. For instance, you might highlight the following benefits:
- Reduced case handling time
- Increased subscriber retention
- Improved operational efficiency
- Improved customer experience and retention
- Cost reduction
- Enhanced decision making
- Automate repetitive, time-consuming tasks
- Orchestrating complex, multi-system workflows, such as automatically updating CRM records and flagging issues from ERP
- Accuracy
Explain how your solution helps across enterprise function
One of the biggest challenges in CRM and Salesforce today is that a wide range of teams, including Sales, Customer Success, Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Operations, and others.
If your Agent helps different teams work better together, be sure to highlight that. If your solution helps to update disparate workflows used by Sales, Finance, and IT so that they are all up to date.
Highlight any industry-specific use cases
In the Salesforce ecosystem, speaking to your industry is key. While some use cases apply across all industries, FinServ, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Automotive, Life Sciences, Nonprofit, Education, Consumer Goods, Retail, and High Tech all have unique opportunities, too.
For instance, Agentic AI can help retailers streamline returns, or enable manufacturers to streamline their supply chain.
